PERFORMANCE
VISUALISING EPILEPSY
When the distinction between reality and the virtual world blurs, these players find themselves engulfed by the seizure as it takes control of their body.
In a room of 100 people, 1 of those people are likely to have epilepsy. With over 60 million people affected by it worldwide, and 600,000 people in the UK, this is to a level that scales just as highly as the level of autism. And yet no one knows much about it.
Epilepsy is an invisible illness which strikes at any moment, and when that happens often no one knows how to properly respond. This projects aim is to educate and spread awareness through showing other’s what epilepsy can feel like. The outcome is a terrifying yet imaginative portrayal of how a seizure could appear inside your body...
